After the warmest December ever measured over the Eastern U.S., January has been a rather chilly month. The maps below show the averages for the month so far/compared to normal. The early signs are that February may be colder still!
The GOES Weather satellite was put into rapid scan mode during the blizzard last weekend, and this gives an image every 5-7 mins.
