A February for the Record Books!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

What a month it has been across Delmarva. We saw two snowstorms that basically brought our average snowfall for an entire season in two weeks.

Along with all the snow, we saw some of the coldest air of the season in the month of February…where we shattered records for 3 time periods in a row. We also saw a stretch of weather where we did not get above freezing for 67 hours straight.

Here is the shocking part….this month, on average, wasn’t even our coldest on record. Take a look at this:

The month of February for 2015 falls in 3rd coldest of all time. Only 1979 and 1978 were colder and they were colder by a significant amount. Our average temperature for the month will be 29.0 degrees. Even if the number goes up by .1 degrees, our average temperature this month will still be 8.5 degrees below average for the month of February. Brrrrr!!!
