New U.S. Climate Report Is Not Good News for Delmarva

The 4th U.S. Climate Assessment is HERE.

A summary is here.

Here are some key findings.

I want to highlight what I think is the key finding:

This assessment concludes, based on extensive evidence, that it is extremely likely that human activities,
especially emissions of greenhouse gases, are the dominant cause of the observed warming
since the mid-20th century. For the warming over the last century, there is no convincing alternative
explanation supported by the extent of the observational evidence.

Also, the finding that sea level rise will be higher than the global average on the East and Gulf Coasts of the United States. This is an especially important finding for here on Delmarva. Based on the science, it appears quite likely that Tangier Island is in its last century.

This graph (from the report) says a lot.
