Tonight: Warm and very muggy, with a few scattered storms about. Low 74-76. Wind: SW 1-5 mph. Rain Chance 30%.
Wednesday: Partly sunny and not quite as hot. Heat Index near 97. High 91-92. Rain chance 30%. Wind: NW 1-7 mph. (Beaches 90 falling to 85 as winds turn E 2-7 mph PM).
Wednesday Night: Partly Cloudy and still muggy. A few scattered storms about. Rain chance 30% but some storms could have heavy rain. Low 75. Wind: Light.
Thursday: Partly to mainly sunny and still hot. Scattered T-storms PM. High 91. Wind: SW 3-8, but E 2-9 mph on beaches PM. (Beaches 89 falling to 81 PM).
FORECAST DISCUSSION: Extreme heat and humidity continued across the entire region today, although it was not quite as hot as it was on Monday. Tomorrow will be slightly cooler, but still very hot and humid, with some scattered afternoon and night-time storms. The heat index tomorrow will still reach the mid to upper 90’s, but a weak sea breeze will bring cooler temps. to the beaches in the afternoon. Thursday will also be hot and humid, but it should not be quite as hot with some areas staying below 90, especially near the east coast beaches. Rain chances will increase slightly Thursday afternoon and evening, as this intense high pressure system in the upper atmosphere weakens some. Some of these storms will have heavy rains and a brief strong wind gust. Rain chances will increase more on Friday with some heavy storms in the area and highs may stay below 90 in some spots. It will still be very humid.
Saturday through Monday will still bring well above normal temperatures to Delmarva, but there will be a some thunderstorms, and some may have very heavy rainfall. Highs will reach near 90. Temps. may cool back to the upper 80’s in the afternoon by Monday and Tuesday, and less humid air may arrive by Tuesday as well.
