The GOES Weather satellite was put into rapid scan mode during the blizzard last weekend, and this gives an image every 5-7 mins. With the coming GOES R satellite, we’ll have images every minute or less in cases like this. Check out the animation of the low developing off the coast of Accomack County in Virginia.
