The strong cool front, and an intense upper level trough to the south, will bring a strong wind/heavy rain event to Delmarva, and the entire region through Friday, and into the weekend. Even if Joaquin does not approach our area, there is the likelihood of winds over 35 mph with rainfall of over 5 inches.
There remains a LOT of uncertainty on where Joaquin will go with a large track difference among the different numerical models.
Winds may reach gale force by Friday and Saturday along the beaches, along with the rain and if Joaquin approaches over the weekend, it may be even worse. The outlook for the Seagull Century bike ride is to put it mildly rather dismal.
